ETL Developer
Advantage Tech is looking for multiple ETL Developers for our client in Kansas City, MO.Develop SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) programs to support Enterprise Datawarehouse. This is a contract position, and the successful candidate in this position will be expected to bring knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and applying SSIS to develop data extraction-transformation-load function to create this integration.Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
o Take direction from Manager/Architect/Senior Programmer for SSIS Development and on daily tasks and activities. o Write new or modify existing SSIS packages/projects according to specified systems designs. o Test new or modified programs to ensure that they conform to design. Develop test data for use in program testing. o Write documentation of system changes in conformance with department standards o Write any necessary user documentation (report descriptions, user procedures, operations procedures) o Provide timely and concise summaries of project status to manager.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) knowledge and demonstrated experience required. o Familiarity with project deployment model, use of project and package parameters, and Integration Services Catalog (including Environments) preferred. o Knowledge of designing and developing data transformation solutions using a variety of SSIS components (Data Flow Task, Data Flow transform tasks, Data Flow containers, Foreach Loop containers, Script components using C#). o Reviews user requirements for new applications or enhancements to existing applications and performs analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and training related to the application developed. o Software development life cycle and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. o Proficient in SQL query writing and editing. o Familiarity with building SQL database objects (tables, views, stored procedures). o Develop complex ETL routines to load a dimensional star schema with a strong focus on data quality, error handling, and logging processes. o Stay updated on new ETL techniques and methodologies and communicate trends. o Assess requirements for completeness and accuracy and determine actionable steps for the ETL team. o Identify necessary changes to current business and data integration processes. o Communicate risks and ensure understanding.Standard office environment
Experience:
