IMMIGRATION SERVICES ANALYST

GS-05:
You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, one year of which was experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing a majority of the following duties:
Writing detailed office memorandums and letters to be approved for final use; Reading and compiling instructions to complete a task; providing services to internal customers with positive results; Conducting data entry for official records; Working with others and reaching a workable solution to accomplish assigned tasks; Providing basic information from systems and files to assist with information requests; Working in a team environment in completing multi-task jobs with time constraints. OR You may substitute successful completion of a Bachelor's degree or a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a Bachelor's degree for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours. GS-07:
In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level, you qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the majority of the following duties:
Writing detailed office memorandums and letters to be approved for final use; Reading and compiling instructions to complete a task; Providing provided case synopses by e-mail in response to routine inquires; Servicing internal customers with positive results; Entering data for official records; Working with others and reaching a workable solution to accomplish assigned tasks; Providing basic information from systems and files to assist with information requests; Working in a team environment in completing multi-task jobs with time constraints; Working in a multi-shift environment with various tasks assigned to fixed shifts. OR You may substitute successful completion of one year of full-time graduate education for the experience required at the GS-07 level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work of the position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise a year of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 18 semester or 27 quarter hours. OR You may also substitute superior academic achievement for the experience required at the GS-07 level. You must have completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, class standing in the upper third of a graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. GS-09:
In addition to the requirements at the lower grade levels, you qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the majority of the following duties:
Writing official correspondence and documentation for final use or publication; Reviewing and applying knowledge from regulations and providing analyses to customers; Writing analyses of cases for others to be used in making decisions; Working with customers of various backgrounds and levels of understanding to satisfy complex requests; Reviewing, interpreting, and applying guidelines to specific cases; Working with databases and records and interpreting the contents accurately and fully; Working alone and resolving issues and problems in order to complete the assigned tasks; Working with official records by reviewing and analyzing to assist with adjudication of cases; Working as a member of a team which completed multi-task customer requests with short time limits on a daily basis; Working on a project with no assistance and minimum supervisory oversight; Working in an environment requiring various tasks be accomplished at differing times OR You may substitute a Master's degree or two full years of graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or a J.D. or L.L.B. degree, for experience required at the GS-09 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
